Tum Mile: Music Review

Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty;

Lyricists: Sayeed Quadri and Kumar;

Singers: KK, Mohit Chauhan, Javed Ali, Neeraj Shridhar and Shafqat Amanat Ali

Music composer Pritam seems to be on a roll. He has kept giving one hit after another. His composition in Tum Mile does not disappoint us at all. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan and is based on infamous Mumbai floods. The interesting part of this album is all the songs have been sung by males only and you won’t find any song by any female playback singer. The title song of the album ‘Tm Mile’ has no less than three versions and different singers have lent their voice to them.

One of the versions has been rendered by Javed Ali which is basically a melodious mushy offering. The song has got appeal and is quite slow. It is more of a romantic song. Another version has been sung by Neeraj Shridhar and this one is pretty average. More of a bouncy song with tidbits of English lyrics, song is just about okay. The last version has got the voice of Shafqat Amanat Ali. Song is very impressive and has wonderful mix of heavy guitar.

‘Dil Ibaadat’ is the next song that has bene rendered by KK. It’s a typical Pritam song and is quite soft. Rock version of this song is also present in the album and interestingly that is better than the original one. Those with love for Sufi songs must go for ‘Tu hi haqeeqat’ that has been sung by Javed Ali. It is a soulful number with great lyrics. ‘Iss Jahan Mein’ is the next number crooned by increasingly getting popular Mohit Chauhan. It is a nice, pleasing song. The last one is ‘Oh meri jaan’ which is a slow, poignant track. Sung by talented KK, this song will surely touch your heart.

Jail: Music Review

Music Directors: Shamir Tandon, Sharib Sabri and Toshi Sabri;

Lyricists: Ajay Garg, A.M. Turaz, Sandeep Nath and Kumaar;

Singers: Sonu Kakkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Sharib Sabri, Toshi Sabri and Neil Nitin Mukesh;

Jail is the upcoming movie of National Award Winner Madhur Bhandarkar who has previously given us Fashion, Page 3, Chandni Bar and Corporate etc. The movie stars emerging talents Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse. The music of the movie has been composed by brothers Sharib and Toshi Sabri along with Shamir Tandon. Like other movies of Madhur Bhandarkar, Jail also does not have too many songs. It just has four songs and the soundtrack promises to be a mix of pacy as well as melodious numbers.

The album begins with "Bareli ke bazaar mein" that appears more like an item number. Sung by Sonu Kakkar, this song is more oriented for masses. Quite a fast paced and energetic mix, it has a mixture of rustic influences with western electronic beats. You will also find the remixed version of the song that has English lyrics as well. The remixed version pales in comparison to the original one.

‘Daata Sun Le’ is the next song that is devotional in nature. The greatest female singer of India, Lata Mangeshkar has sung this beautiful song. She has crooned after a long time. Her voice definitely gives the song an edge and it is kind of soothing. As is the trend, the song is also present in contemporary version.

The next song is "Milke yun laga", crooned by Sharib. It is basically a love ballad that has elements of rock as well. The last song of the album is "Sainya ve" sung by talented Toshi. Quite an impact song this one is. It is available in both versions.

popular songs

Humming to a familiar tune and suddenly forgetting the lyrics almost becomes like a puzzle. Hindi movie songs have a huge fan following from resident Indians and people who live abroad. The penchant for desi music is also common during main functions during a marriage ceremony which has apt collections in folk and situational music.

 The song from Chandi with Mere haath mein nao nao chudi is a regular happening in the ladies sangeet. Aj mere yar ki shaadi is still a blockbuster with modern music and trends in dancing steps. Choreographed to new remix versions there are many shaadi songs like Budda mil gaya which is a jocular representation of the light vein atmosphere present during Indian weddings.

 The recent music is a good compilation of hits from Krish and other popular beats from Dhoom. Some songs of the romantic versions from Hum dil dekhe chuke sanam is very heart whelming. There are popular songs from the old times like Ude jab jab zulfe tere or E meri zohrazabeen which makes anyone of us dance to the rendition.

 There are many meaningful songs in the current era too. The songs in Metro like Tu jile zara or O jane ja from Raaz are a complete presentation of emotions and good music. An offbeat song like Meri maa which was sung by Shankar for the film Tare Zameen par is another kind of music which was popular and hummable.

 Devotional songs from the yesteryears from the voice of Rafi saab like Duniya ke rakhwale or the latest  Lagaan bhajan O Paalan Hare is great music melody. Going to tracks from songs like Rock on which seems an inspiration to more music. The latest narration of Hanuman Chalisa in London dreams is yet another musical bonanza.

Quick Gun Murugan – Music Review

The music of this movie has been composed by Sagar Desai. However, emerging Indi-pop singer Raghu Dixit has also chipped in for the song Murugan Superstar. The movie generated quite a buzz and was full of humour and funny scenes. Interestingly, the album begins with a Dialogue Mix and no doubt it’s hilarious. Quick Gun Murugan first came into prominence with Channel V's iconic bovine-loving cowboy and boasts of a loyal fan following. The opening dialogues are quite exaggerated but that is supposed to be specialty of the favourite southern gunslinger. It is quite long but, well you will manage to finish it off and will have your quota of some chuckles as well.

‘Murugan Superstar’ is the next number composed by Raghu Dixit and I must say, it’s a light, happy and easy composition. The chorus is great fun and song comes as very simple and yet quite effective. The next one is ‘Mind It’. Many people consider it as a Tamil Bhangra and you will have to accept that song is very innovative. Composition is quite interesting and song has the double bonanza flavor of bhangra and sambhar. ‘Kyoon Keeda Hai Aapko’ will certainly make you laugh. It’s witty and hilarious.

‘The sombrero’ is the next offering and it will remind you of great cowboy western themes. You can consider it as the theme song and it’s catchy as well. ‘Chat Mangni Lover’ is the next number which is basically a retro ballad. The song leaves a lot to be desired after generating the initial excitement. More of a predictable song but yes, it has great chorus. ‘Kuchi Kuchi Twist’ is breezy in nature whereas ‘Mera Naam Mango Dolly’ is a cabaret number that is appealing as well as spoofy. The last one is ‘Space Goddess’, a remixed version but it will make you move. All in all, quite an interesting album with elements of fun.
